Let’s face it, most of the time Midjourney creates better photos than we can produce on our own. The beautifully unique backgrounds, professional lighting, garment detail, and the compositions make Midjourney an excellent replacement for traditional or stock photography. It has also made and saved me a lot of money in my design agency career.

When it comes to creating imagery with our own likeness, well, it can be a little weird. There’s something slightly unnerving about seeing your face recreated without it being your actual face. And Midjourney doesn’t quite perfect the life and soul that makes you uniquely you.

So when I wanted to create a new image for a Podcast I recently produced, I considered how to create a world-class profile image but keep it true to myself, and still feel good about using it.

Here’s a quick how-to tutorial using CREF as the “template” to making your clone, and then bringing back your uniqueness, without using a program like Facetune.

Start with ‘You’
