Is AI Art Cheating, Fair, or the Future? A Traditional Graphic Designer and AI Artist Makes a Case
Has the keyboard become the new paint brush? A nuanced look at the next big debate in the (art) world.
Boy, did I strike a nerve.
I have discussed, and often on this platform, how this new technological epoch, called Text-to-Image AI Art Generation with platforms like Midjourney, is a Tsunami that has been thrust on the public without considering its implications. Having been through three smaller tidal waves in the past (desktop publishing, web programming, and online platforms like Canva) I wasn’t going to get crushed by this Tsunami either.
But instead of simply riding this monstrous wave to success and profitability, I would sell surfboards this time. That is what both my articles here and my Udemy Course(s) are helping me accomplish.
To that end, I’ve become well-recognized on this and other platforms and been rewarded with praise, followers, comments, and now, even commissioned requests.
That was NOT the reception I received when I decided to post about my “artistic abilities” on Facebook Groups. Many of you read the following article.
