The main reasons the air is “fresher” on there
In the past 18 months, I poured myself into Medium. It paid off. Having made thousands of dollars, experienced a few boosts, and garnered hundreds of thousands of views, I recognize the value that Medium has been in my writing journey and the breadth of my wallet.
Because of this, I avoided Substack for years. I saw it as a paid newsletter platform, good for independent journalists and thought influencers with thousands of instant followers.
It was my wife that kept telling me, “You should really get on Substack.” That started two years ago.
I should have listened.
Thankfully, I don’t think I’m that late to the party. Search “Substack” here and you’ll get 2.5K articles, many written in the last six months, from prominent writers that have leaped ship. Thankfully, Medium allows cross pollination.
